Congratulations to our minor hurlers who captured the 2021 U17 League/Championship title with a good 2-5 to 1-2 victory in the Final played in Darver last Friday night March 25. The Moninne team was - Conor Whyte, Oisin Curran, Aaron McGuinness Smith (1-0), Matthew Dignan Moloney, Diarmuid McEnaney, Tadhg Dowdall, James Byrne, Daniel O Shaughnessy, Ciaran Walsh, Martin Thaz, Sean Hoey (0-1), Seamus Reid, Ryan Heaney, Aaron Heaney, Sam Phelan (1-4).


On Saturday afternoon March 26 our senior team travelled to Kilcoole in Wicklow to take on local side St Patrick's in the Div 5 quarter final of the Leinster Adult club league. In a game where Seamus Mulhall and Kyle Judge made their club debuts they lost by 6-16 to 1-14 and will now play Clonguish (Longford) in the Shield semi final this Saturday April 2 at a venue and time TBC. The Moninne team was - Donal Connolly, Ronan Reid, David Yore, Aaron McGuinness Smith, Stephen Rafferty, Diarmuid Murphy (0-2), Paul Challoner, James Murphy, Darren O Hanrahan, Conor Murphy (0-6), Conal McEnaney (0-1), Seamus Mulhall (0-2), Kyle Judge (1-0), Cathal Azzopardi (0-1), Ultan McEnaney (0-2). Subs used Donal Lee.


Juvenile training for all teams U7 to U17 will continue indoor this Saturday afternoon at the DKIT Sports Centre from 2pm to 3pm with a €4 contribution required. New players are welcome.

On Tuesday night March 29 the Louth U20 hurlers suffered a 9-11 to 0-10 defeat to Wicklow in the All Ireland U20B Championship in Darver. The team only trailed at the break by 2-5 to 0-5 before the concession of some soft goals in the second half proved their downfall. The Moninne players involved were Aaron McGuinness Smith, Conor Whyte, Ronan Reid, Paddy Wehrly, Brendan Prendergast, Sean Magill, Fionn Cumiskey (0-2), Conor Murphy (0-1), Sam Phelan (0-1), Ciaran Walsh, with Conor Lee and Seamus Reid making substitute appearances.


The club will hold their first fundraiser of the year with a flag day (bucket collection) in the town on Good Friday April 15. Club members will be asked to help on the day with the collection and you can contact club treasurer David Duffy 0876536665.


Membership which is due by March 31 can be paid on Foireann at the following rates - adult player €60, student player €25, non player €25, juvenile €20 and family membership €60.
