Over the last few weeks we have been putting out the call for help with the works ongoing at Toberona to get our first pitch ready for seeding before the weather takes a turn and the rains come.
Over the last few weeks a tremendous amount of work has been put in by many different people. Club members, players young and old, parents, grandparents, friends have all been down to lend a hand putting up fencing, drive tractors, pick stones and feed the workers. Without all those efforts we would not be in this fantastic position this week
All on the Committee would like to express our deep thanks for the brilliant work completed, it is very much appreciated by us now and will continue to be for generations to come.
Just as the final seeds were being sown yesterday evening County Board Chairman Peter Fitzpatrick arrived to commend the club on the fantastic progress shown and to express support as we move forward with the next phase.
While great work has been done these last few days, weeks, months and years to get the Toberona site to where it is now there is much still to be done. Fundraising is still ongoing and future events are currently being planned. All Contributions are greatly welcomed and can be given through our Go Fund Me at https://gofund.me/fa43489c
Once again well done to all on the great work done and many thanks!
As was so eloquently put by one of our committee members earlier today:
"As we welcome the soft rain that has arrived after the heroic effort to sow the grass seed in Toberona yesterday we also hope Cuchulainn and Naomh Moninne continue to send us soft rain with intermittent warm sunshine to germinate and grow a lush green sod."
Moninne abú!!!
