Club notes Our senior team qualified for the final of the Special Hurling League with a terrific 3-14 to 1-11 victory over St Fechins in Termonfeckin last Thursday night, July 1.The scorers wereGraham Harrington (0-1), Daire Flanagan (0-2), Mark Gahan (0-7), Conor Murphy (1-1), Stephen Rafferty (0-1),Dylan Carey (1-2), Stephen Ryan (1-0). The Special League Final against St Fechins (again) was played in Darver on Monday night July 6 and it saw the club capture the first adult hurling trophy of the season, the 'Colm Geary Cup' with a good 3-13 to 0-14. After the game the cup was presented by the County Board Chairman Peter Fitzpatrick to team Donal Lee. Well done lads. The Louth senior hurlers bounced back from their opening round defeat to Longford the previous weekend by beating neighbours Monaghan by 3-15 to 0-16 in the Lory Meagher Cup in Darver on Saturday evening. The Moninne players involved were Mattie Fee, Darren Geoghegan (0-11), Feidhelm Joyce (0-2) and Andrew Mackin (2-0) and unsued sub Darren O’Hanrahan. Our U11 team took part in an All County blitz in Darver on Tuesday night July 7 playing games against Knockbridge, St Fechins and St Kevin's/Matt/G Emts. This Thursday night our U15 team will travel up to Termonfeckin to take on St Fechins in the League at 7.30pm. Training for all juveniles U6 to U17 continues next Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 3pm with the usual €2 contribution still applying. New players are welcome. Membership is still being taken at the following rates, adult player €60, student player €25, non player €25, juvenile €20 and family membership €60. The new pitch development at Toberona is ongoing and anyone willing to contribute financially to the project can do so through the Field Heros account with details available from committee members
