Club Notes

The clubs senior team kept alive their involvement in the Special League with a 0-18 to 3-9 draw against Mattock/St Kevin's at the DKIT last Thursday night. Our scorers were Mark Gahan (0-10), James Murphy (0-1), Daire Flanagan (0-3), Conor Murphy (0-4).Their refixture against St Fechins goes ahead in Termonfeckin this Thursday night July 1 at 8pm.

Our U17 team opened their league account with a good 4-10 to 1-10 victory over St Fechins in Termonfeckin last Tuesday night June 22. The Moninne team was Fionn Cumiskey, Matthew Dignan Maloney, Aaron McGuinness Smith (0-5), Tadhg Dowdall, Conor Lee, Conor Caraher, Diarmuid McEnaney, Daniel O Shaughnessy (0-2), Aaron Heaney (1-0), Conor Whyte (2-0), Iarlaith Connolly (0-1), Sam Phelan (0-2), James Byrne, Martin Thacz (1-0). Subs used were Ruadhan Joyce and Ross Keenan. 

The Louth senior hurlers made an undignified opening to the defence of the Lory Meagher Cup losing by 8-25 to 3-19 to Longford on Saturday afternoon. The Moninne players involved were goalkeeper Donal Connolly, Darren O Hanrahan, Feidhelm Joyce, Darren Geoghegan, Mattie Fee and Andrew Mackin. They will take on Monaghan in round 2 of the competition in Darver this Saturday evening July 3 at 7pm.

Next week our U11 team will take part in a blitz on Tuesday night July 6 in Darver at 7pm. On Thursday night July 8 our U15 team play St Fechins in Termonfeckin in the league at 7.30pm. 

Training continues for all juveniles U6 to U17 at the Fairgreen on Saturday afternoons from 2pm to 3pm with the usual contribution of €2 still applying. New players are welcome. 

Parents are reminded that the club Cul Camp for children U12 goes ahead in Dowdallshill from Monday 9th August to Friday 13th August and bookings can still be made on line.
